Be a part of the team.
The Wells Fargo Championship cannot operate without volunteers. More than a golf tournament, the Wells Fargo Championship is one of the premier stops on the PGA TOUR, placing a national and international spotlight on Wilmington and the Carolinas.
The 2017 Wells Fargo Championship will be held May 1-7, 2017 at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Our goal is to have the best corps of volunteers of any PGA TOUR event. We need dedicated, dependable, helpful, flexible, and most of all friendly volunteers. Come be a part of the team.
If you are interested in volunteering for the 2017 tournament, please sign up for our email distribution list to receive information on the application process once it’s available.
What is the minimum amount I must work to be on a Committee?
You must work a minimum of 4 half day shifts OR two full day shifts. Based upon their duties, some committees will only offer full day shifts. A few Committees have a minimum of 3 day shifts.
Do I have to purchase a Uniform?
Yes, you must purchase your Uniform by specified dates. Our Uniform usually consists of a shirt and a hat choice—cap or visor. The price for this package has been approximately $60.00, but is subject to change. You will be asked to provide your own shorts/pants to complete the Uniform.
How do you correspond with the volunteers?
What benefits do I receive for helping? ?
In Charlotte, volunteers working their required shifts will receive the Ambassador Benefits Package, worth approximately $500, which includes:
- Official Ambassador Tournament Uniform at reduced wholesale cost
- Wells Fargo Championship Nike Dri-Fit Golf Shirt
- Choice of an Official tournament cap, visor, or straw hat (additional fee for straw hat)
- Optional Wells Fargo Championship Outerwear piece
- Volunteer Badge grants grounds access and free parking each day of the tournament
- Breakfast grab and go items for each shift worked
- Food Vouchers to be used toward lunch for each shift worked
- Two Grounds tickets for use any one day of the tournament
PLEASE NOTE: there may be some changes to the Benefits due to availability in the Wilmington region.
After I am signed up, when should I expect to hear from you?
Our volunteer process starts each Fall. You can expect to hear from us via email in the Fall of 2016 about helping with our 2017 event.
Will volunteers from Wilmington have precedent over other volunteers?
We will be reaching out to key volunteers from Charlotte due to the experience they will bring to the event. We will then fill in our Committees from those who are interested.
